Preparing to Sell Your Sarasota Home
February 18th, 2007
Recently I had a pre-listing appointment with a potential customer who wanted to know if it would be easier to sell their home if their bathrooms where remodeled. Not neccessarily!
Recovering your remodeling dollar depends on many factors especially choosing the correct areas for a remodel: adding a garage, improving kitchen, adding a room, improving bathrooms.
If you increase the price of your home the minute the remodel is done, recovering your investment may not occur, and you might even price your home out of the selling price range in your Sarasota neighborhood.
The inventory of homes in Sarasota is high and buyers are shopping price now more than ever. Before you sink your money into a project that may not help you sell your home, talk with a Sarasota real estate agent. “In general, expect to recover less of your investment in a slow real estate market than you would in a better real estate market where houses are appreciating rapidly in value.”
If you think now is the time to buy a Sarasota home or if you are relocating and want to be an informed Sarasota home seller in today’s changing Sarasota real estate market, contact Annette Smith with RE/MAX Properties.
