Touring luxury homes in Greenville, MS with classmates and a side trip to new Mississippi River bridge were highlights of my mini reunion with childhood girlfriends this week. |
When customers ask me to find them a $200,000 home in Sarasota, new with a pool and near the beach, I wonder where they’ve been the last 10 years. You probably can’t even find a home in Greenville, near the water, new for $200,000. Lake Ferguson, a side shoot of “the River,” property has been at a preminium for as long as I can remember even though it floods. Bayou Road property offers lovely low country style homes, as well as “Tara,” and you will probably spend well over that $200,000 figure, especially on Moon Lake. It’s all about location and the water! Benjy Nelken of Nelken Realty escorted the ladies to the bridge under construction which will connect Arkansas to Mississippi and along the bayou to the property owned by the late Harold Council called “The Haunted House.” Thanks Benjy for the tour of your museum and the trip down memory lane!
If you are looking for waterfront property in Sarasota under $200,000, even with the recent pullback, you just won’t find it. Seven properties have sold on Casey Key this year ranging in price from $2.2 million to $$6,9 million. If you’d like to live in Florida and enjoy our fine restaurants, the fabulous climate and the many cultural events Sarasota has to offer, property in Paradise is “on sale” as it’s a buyers’ market, and it just could be the perfect time to jump off that fench and buy.
