Golf in Sarasota traces its roots back to the late 1880s, when Sir John Hamilton Gillespie traveled from Scotland to the hinterlands of "Sara Sota" with his clubs in hand and a vision of what this land of natural beauty could become. Now the region boasts more than 100 golf courses between Tampa Bay and south Sarasota, many in Audubon-protected areas or along the Gulf of Mexico.

Bent Tree

Bent Tree is a master-planned community offering a wide range of architectural styles with its golf course views, wide, beautifully landscaped streets and well-stocked lakes.

Concession

Located in the Lakewood Ranch master-planned community of Sarasota, the Concession is an elite country club community. Single family homesites are spacious and lake and preserve views are found here.

Country Club of Sarasota

Heritage Oaks

Lakewood Ranch

Laurel Oak Estate and Country Club

Misty Creek

Homes in Misty Creek are on spacious lots which provide lake, golf course and greenbelt views. Golf memberships are not required in this community.

Palm-Aire Country Club

One of the area's most distinguished country club communities, Palm-Aire consists of 1,300 acres of land with residences ranging from condos to estate-sized homes and wooded villa communities. Palm-Aire offers two championship golf courses, 14 lighted tennis courts, a pool and clubhouse.

Prestancia

You'll find single family homes as well as condominiums in Prestancia, a gated golf course community in the Palmer Ranch area. The community is centrally located and close to downtown Sarasota and Siesta Key Beach.

Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club

At Stoneybrook, located in the Palmer Ranch area, you'll find a selection of single family homes, villas and condominiums. Both golf and social membership packages are available.

The Founders Club

The Founders Club is one of the area's newer premier golf communities consisting of luxury single-family homes with a challenging golf course designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

The Lake Club

The Lake Club is an an upscale golf community in Lakewood Ranch. Homes choices feature custom luxury homes, and the grounds cover over 1,500 acres of exquisite landscaping, including lakes, decorative covered bridges, and a park.

The Meadows

One of Sarasota's most popular communities,The Meadows consists of a large assortment of single-family homes, villas and condominiums. Golf, tennis, racquetball, bicycling and jogging trails and dozens of stocked lakes are available.
